We Believe...
In Jesus Christ
Agape Christian Church has no formal creed or doctrinal statement other than accepting Jesus Christ as Lord of Life. The Bible teaches that He is God, who came to Earth as a man, born of a virgin, lived a perfect and sinless life, died for our sins on the cross of Calvary, and was raised from the grave on the third day to reign at the hand of God. All of this is clearly taught in the Bible and has been the teaching of Christians through the centuries. It is our basic faith.
In the Bible
The Bible teaches that the basic problem is our sinful selves. It has separated us from God and from one another and is the source of our innumerable personal problems. The unconditional love of Jesus Christ for us, demonstrated in His sacrificial death on the cross, is the only hope for our lives. As the Bible teaches in Acts 2:38, by placing our complete trust in Him as Lord and Savior, repenting (turning away from sinful living to live for Him), and being immersed (baptized) into Christ, we are born again to begin a new life with the Lord. Through this rebirth, all of our past is forgiven, we have the power, peace and direction of the Holy Spirit in the present and the promise of eternity in Heaven. New life has begun!
In being Non-denominational
Believing that what makes a person a Christian is the Lordship of Jesus Christ over his life (not his particular church affiliation) and believing that the Lord wants His church united as one, we choose a non-denominational approach, identifying with all people everywhere for whom Christ is Lord.
Agape Christian Church is on of thousands of congregations to come from the Restoration Movement of the eighteenth century, a great movement that emphasized the unity of all Christians, based on belief in Jesus Christ and the authority of the Bible.
We recognize that while we may not agree with everyone on all Church traditions or personal practices, we can unite with other Christians on the basis of the Word of God. Agreeing on the matters essential for salvation, and permitting freedom in areas of opinion allows a great diversity in our congregation and permits us a unity with other Christians that transcends all denominational barriers.
